About Us

Jason, Courtney, JJ & new baby Olivia are currently living in Detroit.  They started JJ’s House a foster/adoption home on the east side of Detroit that provides a family environment and stability for children in need as well as a transition home for pregnant girls.  Through this venture & location they have rescued a handful of local foster children, while making major renovations to a 1800 sq ft space that will host a house mother & up to 3 pregnant girls from various crisis pregnancy centers, the street, or word of mouth.  They are also diligently involved in their community through outreach, local churches, coaching city sports for children, literacy tutoring for children, and neighboring well.  They are “for” life!

A Message from the Founders

Dear Friends,

Our passion largely began with the adoption of our son Johnathan James Faraday after our medically unexplainable inability to become pregnant.  My wife, Courtney, and I have always had the desire to adopt and foster and throughout our 18 years of marriage, continued to be involved in mentorship and service, with and to, children’s programs including overseas orphanages and stateside programs as well as awareness and service outreaches.  After our move back to Michigan in 2009, we became aware of the greatest need for family support in Detroit, Michigan, namely the children’s foster care system.  With many children being left in abusive homes for lack of foster families or being placed in low security juvenile detention centers, we prayerfully moved to the lower east side of Detroit to open JJ’s House!

JJ’s House, a 501c3, is a Foster/Adoption home in Detroit that provides a family environment and stability for children in need as well as a transition home for pregnant girls.  We will transform lives with love, care, education and support – giving hope and a voice to those who have none.  Through this venture and location, we hosted a handful of local foster children, while making major renovations to than 1800 square foot space that will host 3 pregnant girls from various crisis pregnancy centers.

We are also diligently involved in our community through outreaches, local churches, coaching city sports for children and neighboring well.  This journey has been filled with everything you may imagine living in the city of Detroit, but through Christ and many helping hands, we have effectively been involved in our community and in renovating a 1914 built home for this purpose. In my experience, most will make evident what they stand against, but rare and inspiring to find a conversation filled with what, or who, someone is for.  We are “for” life and  have moved our family to promote that source of life with all that we have.  Thank you for taking a similar stance!

Gratefully,

Jason, Courtney, JJ & Olivia Faraday
